2000+ Pounds of Sheetrock Later

The process of tearing down, removing, and transporting debris seems never ending. Our bodies know how hard we have been working and aren't afraid to tell us. Pulling down and carrying sheet rock and heating ducts from the basement up to the first floor has our legs screaming for mercy. Over 2000 pounds in one day!

“And this mess is so big
And so deep and so tall,
We cannot pick it up.
There is no way at all!”

From Donald Duck to Dr. Seuss

Unfortunately, the wonderful murals created on the library walls have to be removed along with the rest of the sheet rock. The colorful images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy have been signed by the artists. (see below) Do you know any of the aspiring artists?

More Demo Work...

Overdue

We have been working on the library the past couple of weeks, but it has been slow going. Now that the holidays are over, there are no more excuses.
It is time to get moving! The photos below aren't exciting, but we have made good progress in the basement. I removed all of the floor tile and Jake is going to be removing the rest of the sprinkler system this week.

Some of the paneling has been removed, as well as framing.
More to go!
